Both are Wi-Fi 7 families, but band support and the number of 2.5 Gigabit connections distinguish the cited versions.

The cited Deco BE25 revision 1 and BE63 specifications illustrate why Wi-Fi generation alone is insufficient for choosing a mesh kit. The BE25 version covers 2.4 and 5 GHz with two 2.5 Gigabit ports; the BE63 adds 6 GHz and lists four 2.5 Gigabit ports per unit.
Count connections after the uplink
At the main router, one port serves the upstream connection. At a wired satellite, one may serve backhaul. Write down how many physical connections remain for a desktop, television or storage device. Extra ports can avoid a separate switch where space is limited.
Decide whether 6 GHz has a role
Check client support and the intended node locations. A compatible nearby laptop may benefit from an additional band, while older clients remain on their supported bands. Building materials and legal regional availability still constrain the plan.
Review the exact product revision
BE25 pages and speed-class labels can differ across versions and regions. Compare the seller’s full model and hardware version against the relevant manufacturer page. Do not transfer a feature from another revision solely because the front of the box uses the same family name.
Price the complete installation
- The number of nodes needed.
- Any additional multi-gigabit switch.
- Cabling and suitable mounting locations.
- Optional subscription features you actually require.
Validate the chosen topology
Set up the system according to its router or AP-mode guidance and confirm the active node links. Test simultaneous household use as well as a single nearby client. Headline radio totals are not application-throughput guarantees.
Consider BE63 when its additional band and connections solve a specific requirement. A suitable BE25 revision may be enough for a dual-band deployment with fewer wired endpoints. This comparison is based on documented capabilities; a room-level trial remains necessary to establish whether either kit meets the home’s coverage and stability needs.
