Should garden Wi-Fi use an indoor node or outdoor equipment?

An indoor mesh node near a window may cover a small garden, but that result depends on the building, glazing and where people use their devices. If the signal remains unreliable, a purpose-built outdoor unit is a different installation choice from putting an indoor extender under a cover. Use a safe indoor position with a viable upstream connection. Test the phone or laptop at the actual seating area and near the garden's far edge. Repeat with the window and door in their normal closed positions.

Does plugging a television into an extender create wired backhaul?

Connecting a television or console to an extender's Ethernet port can be useful, especially when the device's own wireless adapter is weak. However, if the extender connects to the router over Wi-Fi, the stream still depends on that wireless backhaul. Write the sequence as television, cable, extender, wireless link, router and internet. TP-Link describes this Ethernet bridge function on supported extenders. The cable changes the client-facing segment; it does not replace the radio connection between the extender and router.

When might RE655BE improve on an RE715X installation?

The RE655BE adds capabilities beyond the RE715X, but whether they help depends on the entire connection. A weak upstream signal or an older client can matter more than the generation printed on the extender. The cited RE715X EU revision 2.0 datasheet describes dual-band Wi-Fi 6 and a Gigabit Ethernet port. TP-Link's US RE655BE page describes tri-band Wi-Fi 7, including 6 GHz, and a 2.5 Gigabit port. Regional versions and channel availability must be checked before buying locally.

How do I choose the next networking device for a particular room?

The best networking purchase depends on what is missing in a particular room. A switch adds wired connections, an access point supplies wireless service, and an extender or bridge changes how that service reaches the location. Start with the job before choosing a product. These are specification-based examples, not a universal ranking or hands-on award list. Verify local versions, required power, controller support and compatibility with the existing router. Include every endpoint and accessory needed to make the proposed path work.
