What should I compare on TL-SG105-M2 and NETGEAR MS105?

The TL-SG105-M2 and NETGEAR MS105 are candidates for a small unmanaged 2.5 Gigabit network segment. Their shared role means the comparison should focus on practical fit rather than inventing a performance winner from brand preference. A workstation and storage server with suitable interfaces may benefit from faster local transfers. An older Gigabit device remains limited by its own connection. Check the negotiated rate at each endpoint after installation.

Why might an old extender stop connecting after a WPA3 upgrade?

A router security upgrade can expose an older extender's compatibility limit. If the extender stopped connecting immediately after the router moved to WPA3-only operation, investigate the supported security modes before moving it around the house. Note the old and new router security setting and whether the network name or password also changed. Several simultaneous changes make the symptom harder to interpret. Confirm that a compatible modern client can still join the intended router network.

How does extender night mode differ from a power schedule?

An extender that goes dark every evening may simply be hiding its indicator lights, or it may be scheduled to stop operating. The distinction matters if a camera, smart plug or overnight backup depends on that extender. TP-Link's RE305 V4 manual separates LED control from Power Schedule. LED control changes the indicators, while the power schedule defines an off period. Other models may use different labels, so inspect the manual for the installed hardware.

When is the XE75 Pro’s 2.5G port useful compared with XE75?

The XE75 and XE75 Pro are both presented as tri-band Wi-Fi 6E systems. A key wired difference is that the XE75 has three Gigabit ports, while the XE75 Pro has one 2.5 Gigabit port and two Gigabit ports per unit. If the Pro's faster port connects to a multi-gigabit internet gateway, the remaining ports are still Gigabit. A cable from one of those ports to a downstream switch does not become 2.5 Gigabit because the internet-facing connection is faster.
