How to port forward the setup.ampedwireless.com in an Amped router?

Port Forwarding allows you to forward a request from a port into a mobile device on a private network. This feature is used to set up cameras, mobile devices, or servers that require remote access. Port forwarding requires that you know the IP address for the mobile device to which you wish to Port Forward requests. To enable as well as to configure the Port Forwarding, a user has to visit the web interface of the setup.amepdwireless.com window.

Steps to port forward the setup.ampedwireless.com in an Amped router

  1. Use the browser to access the Amped router from a computer or laptop.
  2. Take your cursor to the address bar and type www.setup.ampedwireless.com as the URL of your browser. Click the Enter button. If you experience an error, you can type 192.168.1.1 on the address bar.
  3. The default Amped router login page will appear on your screen when you press the enter key. If this is your first time connecting to your router, the QoS setup page will appear on your screen.
  4. Mention your login credentials in the respective fields. As a default login credential, type “admin” in the username field. Enter the password that you have assigned to your Amped router during setup. If you haven’t changed your default password, enter “admin” instead. Both login fields are case sensitive.
  5. After entering your credentials, click the Login button located under the login fields.
  6. You will be redirected to the main screen of the setup.ampedwirleless.com window.
  7. Enable the Port Forwarding feature by enabling the port from which you wish to Port Forward multiple requests.

You can choose the protocol you want to use. The protocols are requests being port forward to a private network so it is important to choose wisely.
  10. Scroll down to Port Range and choose the port range for the assigned IP address to which you want to forward the specific requests.
  11. Finally, move your cursor to “Comment” and enter a name you wish to give to users in order to identify the Port Forwarding entry. A user will not be able identify the Port Forwarding Entry entry if they don’t assign a name. A name can be assigned to the Port forwarding entry, which makes it easier for users to identify it.
  12. After you have completed applying the Port Forwarding rules settings, click the Apply button. The settings will be applied.

Notice: Make sure the user is familiar with the protocol he wishes to use on the network settings being port forward to the device in the local network. Port Forwarding is used primarily for hosting mail servers and web servers behind firewalls.

If an Internet connection is abnormally slow after the setup.ampedwireless.com setup process

Sometimes, the internet becomes inaccessible after setup. During this time, the Internet switches between a temporary and a permanent connection. It is essential that the router be properly configured during setup. If a user experiences sudden loss of bandwidth or abnormal behavior when using the Internet, there are troubleshooting options that can be used to fix the problem.

  1. Ask your Internet Service Provider if they are experiencing a Wide Area Network problem. You cannot help them if they have a WAN problem. However, the issue will be fixed after some time.
  2. To test the speed of your Internet Service Provider’s Internet connection, you can use a speed test function. You can also use speed testing applications to determine the speed of your Internet connection. You can also visit the interface of setup.ampedwireless.com window to identity the speed of your internet in the network. If you get the same speed results, this means the problem is with your Internet Service Provider. To resolve your Internet problem, you can contact your ISP.
  3. Switch to another device and disconnect your router from the computer that you are using for internet access. Your computer may have an operating system issue or hardware problem if the issue does not occur on the second computer or mobile device. You should ensure that your computer is up-to-date and has the firewall and antivirus softwares installed. Sometimes bugs and viruses can slow down your computer’s speed, which directly affects your internet speed.
  4. If your Amped router has a wireless connection, the front panel can be used to check the signal strength. Signal bars above 3 indicate that your router is at the right distance from your computer. You should bring your router closer to your computer if the signal bars are lower than 3. A user can also check the Network Status of his router through the menu dashboard of the setup.ampedwireless.com window.
  5. You must ensure that your browser is up-to-date and has no cache. Sometimes, the cache files can accumulate in the cache memory and cause problems for users or make it difficult to use the internet. The settings tab in a browser can be used to erase the cache.
