Why does copper-clad aluminum cable matter for PoE?

When purchasing Ethernet cable, look for the conductor material as well as the category label. Copper-clad aluminum, commonly abbreviated CCA, is not the same construction as a suitable copper conductor. Fluke Networks highlights resistance and compliance concerns with CCA cabling. PoE carries electrical power along the data cable. Resistance and balance affect that path as well as ordinary data performance. An installation that appears to pass light traffic does not thereby prove suitable behavior under the intended powered-device load.

Why can an older device struggle after Deco Fast Roaming is enabled?

If an older printer, camera or smart device stops connecting immediately after Fast Roaming is enabled, a compatibility test is reasonable. TP-Link documents that some clients cannot interpret the relevant 802.11r information and may fail to connect. Record whether the failure began with the Fast Roaming change or after several unrelated settings were modified. Check another ordinary client on the same network. A whole-network outage requires a broader investigation than one older device rejecting association.

Does Wi-Fi Clone establish a powerline link?

A Wi-Fi powerline extender performs two jobs: it reaches the router through a supported powerline connection and provides a wireless connection for nearby devices. Copying the router's wireless settings addresses the second job, not the first. Follow the kit's pairing procedure and check its powerline status. If the remote unit has an Ethernet port, a wired client can help test this path without adding wireless behavior to the investigation. Use a device you control and restore its normal connection afterward.

When should Ethernet cable use solid or stranded conductors?

Solid and stranded Ethernet conductors serve different installation needs. Fixed building cabling and a flexible lead moved around a desk are not necessarily best made from the same construction. Fluke Networks explains why conductor design affects flexibility and electrical behavior. A permanent run is normally installed once and terminated as part of a structured system. An equipment patch cord may bend and move repeatedly. Buy a cable intended for that role rather than choosing solely by jacket color or category number.
